Never Enough Nails: Zoya Cashmeres Fall 2013, Part One!

Dr. Livingston, I presume? Zoya Livingston, that is! Zoya Sooki has had a long reign as my favorite red creme, but I think it may have just been replaced. Livingston is a bright true red creme, not too blue or pink leaning, yet not orange either. Zoya calls it a “fall red”, but it’s pretty classic and seasonless in my opinion. Livingston is brighter and clearer looking than Sooki, and it also is closer to a crelly than a true creme, making it really juicy looking! This is three coats of Livingston. It looked pretty good in two coats, but I did a third, due to it’s crelly nature. The formula was good, pretty easy to work with. Maybe a tad on the thin side, but not to the point where it’s an issue.

Zoya Pepper is a gorgeous chocolate cherry creme. It totally reminds me of cherries and chocolate together! Zoya calls it a “brick red”, but I think chocolate cherry sounds more delicious. This is such a beautiful fall shade! Zoya really did this well too. I have polishes that are more brown than this or more red than this, but none of them have this perfect balance of red and brown. This is two coats of Pepper. Again, I felt like it was a little bit thin, but not bad. You just have to use a little bit of care so that it doesn’t pool into your cuticles. Also of note, this shade was originally designed for the Peter Som A/W 2013 fashion show.

Zoya Sailor is probably my favorite of the Zoya Cashmeres collection. Zoya’s description of it, “dark navy”, really doesn’t do it any justice. It’s a dusty mix of navy and deep cornflower. It has some element in it that I don’t think of as navy, so it is more unique than just another navy creme. It’s really rich looking too, and exactly what I always feel like wearing in the fall. Sailor also had the best formula of these three polishes! I only (barely) needed two coats, I probably could have nearly done one coat. It was a little thicker than Livingston and Pepper and the added thickness provided better control. I can’t wait to swatch the other three Cashmeres! So far I am enjoying this collection. It’s making me look forward to fall instead of being sad about summer’s end.
